Gary W. Moore has stood with the people of Boone County delivering real results. As Judge/Executive, he has provided steady leadership to ensure Boone County remains a great place to live, work, and raise our families.

Judge Moore’s work ethic was forged early by his father who served as a county Sheriff, long days on the family farm where he was raised, and working to build a small business. These experiences continue to shape his approach to leadership today.

Through combining smart planning with fiscal discipline, Judge Moore has delivered high-paying jobs and impactful economic growth for Boone County. He has secured significant federal and state investments in infrastructure, and strengthened the county’s economy, all while maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the region. His leadership has helped build safe neighborhoods, support strong schools, and expand recreational opportunities, delivering a high quality of life at a low cost for Boone County families.

Judge Moore’s leadership extends beyond Boone County. He currently serves as an executive officer on the boards of the Ohio Kentucky Indiana (OKI) Regional Council of Governments, the Kentucky Association of Counties, and the National Association of Counties.

These roles have given Judge Moore a seat at the table on critical national challenges including the opioid crisis, workforce development, and housing, while providing access to proven, evidence-based solutions that help Boone County address complex issues effectively.

Judge Moore looks forward to continuing to work alongside residents and businesses to keep Boone County moving forward. He is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Christian, and a member of Florence Baptist Church. Gary lives in Burlington with his loving wife, Linda.
